If its one thing cake&icecream likes its cake (and ice cream). So tonight's show at the Cake Shop should be right up our alley. I mean, cake and cocktails? Hello!? Why is this the first time I'm going to such a place? An aquaintance of mine is playing with a couple of bands tonight. They shall remain nameless- as he has not told me their names yet- which is ok. I love surprises. Tonight's show is supposed to sooth the anguish of the apparent dissolution of his last band Spells, which totally-totally rocked. I am told that members of a band that rhymes with "Bleyruit" are performing with him. Ok, this sounds cool, but Spells was more dance rock than "Shmeastern European".
But whatever, $7 cover in the Lower East Side for 3 bands, cookies, and liquor. Can't beat it with a stick.
And speaking of beating it, I'd like to take a moment and acknowledge the extermination of what may've been a fine, fine acting career. Heath Ledger seemed like the kind of guy who's looks and skill would age like wine. Connery and Clooney-esque. Mr. Ledger had the face and physique that could help an imaginative girl with a low pair of batteries get the job done. Ah, what rotten luck. No one* likes to fantasize about the deceased. Rest in peace, bloke.
*Necros aside.
